At present, air pollution is one of the most significant factors posing threat to the health of individuals worldwide. It is associated with a range of diseases, symptoms and conditions that impair health and quality of human life. According to WHO, outdoor air pollution was responsible for the deaths of some 3,7 million people under the age of 60 around the world in 2012, representing 6.7% of the global disease burden while indoor and outdoor air pollution combined are among the largest risks to health worldwide.

On the 1st of October 2018, the official inauguration ceremony of EIT Climate-KIC Hub Greece took place at Hilton Hotel, Athens. Here you can follow a link from ECO News / Skai TV report. The Director of the Greek EIT Climate - KIC Hub, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, introduced the Hub, while the Director European Affairs, EIT Climate-KIC, Dr. Mike Cherrett, presented the European EIT Climate-KIC Platform. Directors from European EIT Climate-KIC Hubs shared successful innovation practices from European and Greek start-ups. The event was invitation-only and it was addressed to Clean Tech start-ups, Businesses and Investors, Researchers, Policy-Makers, Politicians, and civil society.
