“OPEN NETWORK FOR MEDITERRANEAN SUSTAINABLE TOURISM 2”
E.R.F.C. – European Regional Framework for Cooperation was established in Aegion Achaia, Greece with branches in Thessaloniki and Corfu. ERFC operates having four main priorities a) social policy and protection of vulnerable groups, b) strengthening of human resources, entrepreneurship and local development, c) incorporating new technologies, d) effective and rational use of natural resources and d) international cooperation supported through the implementation of European projects.
Τhe project OMNEST 2- “OPEN NETWORK FOR MEDITERRANEAN SUSTAINABLE TOURISM 2”, in which ERFC participates actively as a partner from Greece, aims to enhance the tourism benefits in seven (7) countries bordering the Mediterranean (Greece, Italy, Spain, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, the Palestinian Authority), with a vision to promote the model of sustainable tourism in areas with low tourist awareness, enhancing in this way the local tourism and bringing together all the stakeholders of the local economic and cultural society.
The main objective of the call is for the directly or indirectly interested parties to register their network. They will have the opportunity to actively participate and shape, with the guidance of the project, their tourism product. This will be achieved through the creation of at least 5 local points of contact network, involving professionals, chambers of tourism operators, local government and the education sector, which will act as coordinators and key shapers of identity and tourism development.
The field above is effectively combining the dissemination and awareness towards the diffusion of the idea of sustainable tourism among tourism professionals communities and public authorities and students. The project provides training, so that the parties involved may become familiar with specific methodologies for creating and developing tourism products, future funding, but also recommendations for the preservation of local heritage and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
