ERFC participated in the Climathon Athens, on the 26th of October, at the Municipality of Athens and Aephoria.
The Climathon Athens was co-organised by Climate-KIC GR, Organization Earth, Aephoria.net, UN SDSN Greece and Reasearch and Innovation Center ”ATHENA”.
The “24 Hour Hackathon” aimed at developing viable and implementable tools and solutions to address the climate challenges of the city of Athens! The goal of this year’s Climathon Athens is to create the first Urban Open Data Tree Inventory.
The participants had the opportunity to learn more about the Climathon Global Movement and hear by city official themselves, about this year’s Challenge for Athens.
During the Climathon Athens, the team ”Riders from Athens” won the 2nd Prize of the Hackathon session. The idea that went through the Pitching session was “Identify motivation schemes in order to increase public awareness and change citizens behavior toward a more sustainable and healthier life style”, in which Antonis Bourdalas, ERFC representative, participated.
