F.A.M.E road project is build on the experience gained from Greenroad, a Best Practice for development of naturalistic and rural areas aiming at a sustainable growth based on the conservation and the valorization of the identity of target territories. T
he approach is holistic and participatory: cultural, naturalistic, economic and social aspects are all comprised in the planning and development of the activities of the model and in each phase of the project; moreover, local stakeholders are invited to participate and join to the processes, including individual citizens and tourists. The F.A.M.E model is based on four pillars, on which the actions of project are based on: Food, Art, Movement and Energy. The basic idea of the Fame Road model is to present the local identity of the food industry capital of Agialeia in aim to create strong interactive and collaborative networks among stakeholders and define integrated products and services around a branded idea. From the beginning of human evolution, humans have been foragers and hunters. Cooking food is one of the primary cultural characteristics of human evolution. From raw meat, man began to eat cooked food, which, apart from cultural value and ingenuity, has been a major factor in biological evolution. From Rodozachari (marmalade made of roses), made by the hands of monks, the overall objective of the project is to test and adjust a valorization model, starting from a previous best practice, applied in Apulia.
The model aims at providing local stakeholders with competence, networking capability, sustainable strategies and tools to conserve and protect natural and cultural territorial assets and, at the same time, promoting and developing economic and touristic activities based on the same assets. FOOD ART MOVE ENERGY are the main pillars to empower this potential opportunity to know Agialeia paradise better. Culinary culture is one of the highest mechanisms of cultural diplomacy. Through the gustatory emotional experience, innovative actions are created that strengthen the “nation brand of the country” and the locality family enterprises and strengthen its extroverted multifarious activities. Contemporary culinary diplomacy is faced with fundamental changes that it is called to face as the new special challenges or trends of culinary becoming: The conditions, the techniques of development, are constantly reshaped, especially after the “necessary” transition to the new social perception of the post-corona digital seasonal period.
The FAME Road model, however, will offer to the local territories an occasion to develop as a community capable to create B2Bs & B2Cs networks and partnerships and to increase the capabilities to create local business dialogue. Not only the brand name of the Mediterranean Diet could be the corner stone among Greece & Italy, but also the Food for Therapy which promotes a holistic way of thinking and living by adopting healthy sustainable models for QoL synonym to maintain health care. Our Co-ordinator team has contacted the interested SMEs and has arranged an appointment firstly to hear their story, to study, the people, the place and the landscape of the area, after this to make a brain storming in aim to synthesize the script, in which it’s participants could share the vision behind the words, and how meaningful was their participation in the Eu Interreg Greece – Italy program FAME ROAD.
We have studied each case separately, and after this we have organized the shooting. During the shooting we have realized better the main purpose of the FAME ROAD. The shooting took place in 2 periods, First period from 28th to 30th of April 2023 and the second period beginning of May from 5th May until 7th of May. the purpose of FAME ROAD is the interaction of companies operating in the region of Agialeia with companies in Italy and specifically in region of Puglia, Grottaglie and Gravina in order to create opportunities for cooperation of an international dimension. Characteristically, the collaborating companies have the opportunity to consolidate fruitful synergies , for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of business, arts, crafts and the distinct culture of each region.
