On Monday 20.07.2020 the Mayor of Sacred Town of Messolonghi and ERFC were met in Aitoliko with the local stakeholders of Messolonghi and Aitoliko in an open debate regarding the activities and the governance model of the Aitoliko Port Museum.
The meeting took place in the under-construction center for the Port Museum of Aitoliko, in the building of ex Exedra
During the meeting, the Local Agreement was analyzed alongside the possible governance model, on which the local community will get involved.
The Local Agreement is one of the steps for the Development and valorisation of port museums as natural and cultural heritage sites, where the local community can promote an integrated and sustainable territorial development through the promotion of responsible and sustainable tourism.
The Local Cooperation Agreement is created within the framework of the MUSE project and is aims to plan the specific activities that will be implemented for each Port Museum, starting from a common base for the three Port Museums areas.
The success of the meetings is due to the participation of many representatives of local stakeholders as well as citizens who expressed interest in the operation of the “Aitoliko Port Museum “.
