The new headquarters of the district association of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Neubeckum will be something very special.
So special that NRW Minister Ina Scharrenbach came to Neubeckum for the groundbreaking ceremony to hand over the funding decision for 400,000 euros. In addition to 3D printing, the second innovative method The President of the DRK district association, Dr. Karl-Uwe Strothmann, and the managing director Detlef Weißenborn. In addition to the minister, the two also welcomed Beckum’s mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and the chairman of the DRK state association, Dr. Hasan Surgit. The new DRK headquarters in Neubeckum will be built using an innovative 3D printing process and will therefore be sustainable.
“Against this background, I am pleased that the initiator of the first building constructed using the 3D printing process, Georgios Staikos, is also supporting this new building with his expertise,” reported Strothmann in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony. In addition to the new 3D printing technology, the project also uses the “Building Information Modeling” method – BIM for short. Staikos begining of June went to Greece as a honored gust, during the Jobschadowing which took place in Thessaloniki. Mr. Staikos has already signed a MOU with all Greenland Steakholders, and is ecxited Greenland to participate also to the Bulding of the Red Cross in Beckum. Mr. Staikos is ready to provide this kind of thecnology also in other countries. He is also the person in charge for social inclusion at work place.
