FRAMEWORK
The Post-Coal Futures Lab will address the interlinked systemic challenges of coal transitions within and across RIS regions. By enabling knowledge sharing, dialogue, and the co-creation of solutions amongst diverse stakeholders, in a safe and open environment, the PCFL will generate innovative solutions that overcome silos and exploit the co-benefits of transition. The PCFL will develop capacity on post-coal future thinking and literacy, ultimately contributing to the systemic transformation of RIS coal regions.
This will be achieved through four pilot Regional Mini Labs and a main Cross-National Post-Coal Future Lab. The Mini Labs will facilitate collective problem solving and collaborative projects, focusing on specific issues in the regions, creating a neutral space for cross-sectoral and multi directional dialogue. The main Lab will be open to stakeholders from all RIS coal regions, facilitating cross-national engagement, knowledge sharing, and capacity development.
